Collaborative Messaging and Fundraising Strategy Workshop and Playbook
With a focus on community-led models of change, The Lotus Flower Charity empowers displaced people to grow sustainable impact in, by, and for their communities.
With programmes on literacy, physical and mental health, peacebuilding, the environment, and human rights, their work creates lasting change by cultivating resilience, even in the most difficult of environments. Just like the lotus flower itself – blooming in muddy water, thriving in adversity.
Born out of founder Taban Shoresh’s lived experience of displacement and as a response to the humanitarian crises of Kurdistan, northern Iraq in 2014, The Lotus Flower has been dedicated to empowering displaced individuals in support centres in the region for ten years. The charity is now expanding its presence in the UK, necessitating new messaging and fundraising strategies to appeal to UK donors.
The Lotus Flower team approached Effective Creative for support developing a wide range of new fundraising ideas, especially a strategy to expand fundraising in the UK over the coming years.
We were delighted to work with The Lotus Flower, providing a full day strategy and messaging workshop aimed at shaping a robust messaging framework and actionable fundraising strategies. Over the course of the day, we distilled the charity’s core message, prioritised fundraising goals, and identified effective approaches and upcoming opportunities. The collaborative nature of the workshop created an enthusiastic exchange of new ideas and an energised atmosphere for open ideation, ensuring that the resulting guide not only reflected our expertise but also captured the essence of The Lotus Flower’s inspirations and ambitions.
After our day of collaboration with The Lotus Flower team, we refined our messaging and strategies with further ideation and research to produce a detailed guide encompassing creative concepts for content and assets, and fundraising approaches covering corporate partners, events, individual giving, regular giving, social media, major donors, and legacy giving – all tailored to The Lotus Flower’s unique mission and message.
